Karlsruhe German Course

German is the language of Einstein, Mozart and Carl Benz. It ranges among the 10 mostly spoken languages in the world. To know German is essential for making Karlsruhe your home away from home. Not only in daily life, but also in regard to your international career: language skills will figuratively open doors for you. Therefore, The Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics offers optional German courses as part of the curriculum.

The DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) language courses are structured according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are widely accepted.

Which skill levels are provided ?

  • Dr. Andrea Mann, German lecturer, teaches the DaF courses (German as a foreign language) at the International Department of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

  • You may choose from courses of levels B1 and B2.

How long does it take?

  • one lesson of 90 minutes, twice a week
  • one semester per course

When does it start?

  • The courses begin in the first week of the semester.

Dates Winter Semester 2021/2022*

October 18, 2021 - February 11, 2022

  • B1.1: Wednesday 8 - 9:30 am, Thursday 12 - 1:30 pm
  • B2.1: Wednesday & Friday 10 - 11:30 am

Consultation Hour: By appointment on MS Teams or in the office

*Courses will be offered hybrid (in person and online)

IMPORTANT:

The courses take place hybrid. If one wishes to participate in attendance, the 3 G rule applies. Only daily updated tests will be accepted, should someone not have a vaccination record. 

If you can only attend one of the two dates, please do not register.
