The KIT (formerly University of Karlsruhe) has a long and fundamental culture of founding new companies based on excellent intelectual capital which is being raised at its research facilities.
It has always been a tremendous concern of the organization to support research projects to spin off in order to create capable high technology start ups.

KIT Gründerschmiede was established in 2013 as a project to support founders.
